How to Kick the Sugar Addiction!

OK, help is at hand!  Let me know if more help is required…

17-Kicking-the-Sugar-Addiction

Yes, sugar addiction really is real and it’s going to take some pretty determined steps to set you free.  It won’t take forever though… work on it for a couple of weeks.  Plan your shopping.  Plan what you will use instead of refined white sugar.  As you have already seen, there are some wonderful options for you to adopt.

Try to eat savoury and sour type foods more often.  It doesn’t mean you have to bite into a lemon, but rather, have 1/2 a lemon in a glass of water.  Don’t like it?  That’s OK… you soon will!  You could drink one of them a day couldn’t you? What about some lime juice… that helps.

How about other little indulgences such as avocado?  Yum yum!  Nuts.  Lovely Almond butter.

Go through the list of staples I gave you and begin to add them into your pantry, but before you do… how about getting to and cleaning out your pantry of all the foods you know will eventually bring you down?

I love the slide that says “If you keep good food in your fridge you will eat good food” by Errick McAdams… it’s SO true.

Be rid of the Witch!

Hey, you don’t want the witch passing by your house do you?  Learn to realise that the list of potential conditions you can and most probably will end up with if you continue your sugar addiction… is real.  It’s gotta go!

Are you saying to yourself… “Does that mean I can never eat sugar again?”

My answer to you is this… once you kick the addiction in the butt you will be able to have a little.  I mean, on those occasions when it’s out of your control what you are about to eat.  For example, if you have been invited out to someone’s place for an afternoon snack or something… or to dinner where they serve up a sweet dessert.

On those occasions I always say… go ahead and enjoy.  When you come home again go back to your normal new way of eating… and stick with it until it becomes second nature… because that’s what will happen.  It won’t be long before the sweetness of sugar will be too sweet and it will not bring the previous enjoyment that it once did.

I need to add a little note here… remember I said that ‘sweet’ is one of the senses we are meant to enjoy?  Remember also how I said that it’s not a matter of giving up all kinds of foods, but rather, to swap this for that!

Swap out sugar filled beverages and foods for the more natural foods and drinks given to us.  Online you will find countless good healthy desserts and beverages that are nutrient-dense but lack the added sugar content.

I’m not suggesting that you should consume a boring diet,, but one that is full of life and vigour!

Let me know where you are on this journey.  Have you tried to go sugar-free?  What worked?  What didn’t?  We’ll be so interested to hear your story.

Hi Marilyn… thanks for mentioning it’s ok to use up old things because they cost money.. I am doing that.. but only in tiny amounts… This program is so helpful! I love that you are not afraid to quote scripture and the marvels and miracles of God and His desire to help us as you did in Job 5:8-9

      Hi Mary,
I’m so glad you are enjoying this ecourse and hope you’re receiving much information that’s helping you in a real way.
With the price of everything these days, not many of us can afford to simply throw things out… even though, once you learn how bad many items are for our body, it’s hard not to. But you’re doing it in a clever way… a little here and a little there… good for you!
God is good and we always need to remember that!
Keep going, you’re doing well. 🙂
