A plant derived minerals supplement is more important to your body than vitamins. In fact, both are very important, but vitamins are unable to attend to the work they need to do if the body is lacking in minerals.
Let me share with you how plant derived minerals are formed
Earth is formed of rocks of all kinds. I’m fascinated with geography and rock types as some are amazingly pretty. Those rocks contain metallic minerals which get worn down over a very long time by water, rain, wind and so on. They are not designed for human consumption.
But plants, they love these same rocks. They are able to draw these broken down metallic minute particles up into their system where they are changed by using photosynthesis into a water soluble mineral. Don’t you think that’s cool?
So then along comes an animal and eats the plant and as a result utilises what was once a metallic mineral into their system for all the countless chemical and enzymatic uses they are required for.
Soon, along comes a human who eats the animal 🙁 and gains the benefits of those same minerals.
(I’m well aware that this will be offensive to some. This is a post showing how humans source their minerals, not about the rights and wrongs of it. Please respect that.)
Conversely, the human can go straight to his veggie patch and pick plants and receive the same benefits of the water soluble minerals directly into the system.
Well, that’s how it’s supposed to work!
The only problem is that the soils of today are lacking between 2/3 and 3/4 of the minerals that were available hundreds and thousands of years ago. Therefore now, the soils need to be supplemented with the necessary metallic minerals… the whole spectrum… to give the plants the required nutrition so that they can then give it to us. Does that sound fair?
Baby Boomers
In particular, the ‘baby boomers’ are interested in how they can look and feel younger. They also want to be able to live longer and be healthier than their parents before them. This is not a bad thing. Why shouldn’t they? Definitely the science is out there to bring about this desire.
According to Elmer G Heinrich, the author of “Nutrition, Minerals & Disease” it will require just a few lifestyle changes:
- Food selection change
- Better drinking water
- More stretching and exercise
- Less stress
- More rest
- Less smoking
- Less drinking
- Fewer prescription drugs
He says “Health is not just the absence of disease, but more so the presence of physical and mental well-being”!
Don’t you think that’s brilliant?
Many times people believe that if they don’t feel sick or suffer with some kind of disease, then they are about as good as it gets. But this is not so. We need to aim higher and have a goal of real health where energy and well-being live and abide in us.
We cannot hope to live in super-health where sickness and disease simply pass us by if we are not consuming minerals each and every day. Not just a few different kinds of minerals such as are present in many of the supplements available today, but from a rich source that contains every mineral that the body requires.
A Plant Derived Minerals Supplement is Essential to be Healthy
“But I receive lots of plant derived minerals from all the veggies I eat”
I really do understand your thinking. In reality, if you do eat a rainbow diet full of a wonderful variety of vegetables, you should be receiving all the minerals your body requires. Absolutely!
But the problem is, many, many years ago, our soils were filled with every kind of mineral. But within the last 60 years or so, the minerals in the land have been greatly depleted. Now there is only around 20 out of 80 – 100 or so minerals left. Continual farming over and over on the same piece of land hasn’t helped. The over-fertilisation of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium which were discovered as being the three most important minerals to promote green healthy looking vegetables, has also not helped.
Within a 51 year period:
- Carrots lost 75% of their Magnesium, 48% of the Calcium, 46% of their Iron and 75% of their Copper
- Potatos lost 30% Magnesium, 35% Calcium, 45% Iron and 47% Copper.
In 1991, you would need to eat ten tomatoes to obtain the same amount of copper intake as one tomato would have given you in 1940. Most of the other minerals suffer in the same way.
You know, minerals have to be in the ground if they are going to find their way into the plants you eat. They can’t just miraculously appear just because we’ve added a few minerals, the ones that cause green healthy growth but a great lack of all the other minerals.
Our Soils Need Supplementation
The only way for most soils to gain back their mineral content naturally is to be flooded by a river. Remember the old days of the Nile River flooding before they dammed it up? The floods washed all the nutrients down the river and spread out all over the land supplying it with a wonderful supply of minerals. Of-course floods can bring with them other problems and this is why looking for ways to stop the flooding happens. But it’s unfortunate really.
So the only other way is to supplement with the minerals the land is lacking in…this goes for all crops alike… those which our domestic animals also consume. Growing organically sounds wonderful if its done without pesticides and harmful sprays, doesn’t it? But they are not better off nutritionally if the minerals were not added into the soil, or onto the plants.
If we are growing our own organic veggie garden, we need to apply nutrition that’s appropriate for plants so that when we eat them we absorb all those plant derived minerals in our diet. At least that’s a real start.
Because the soil is in such a bad condition, we should be supplementing ourselves too with the whole spectrum of minerals.
We need an abundant supply of plant derived minerals supplement in our body
…for ultimate and total nutrition. Every living creature has a mineral requirement because there would be no life without minerals. They control millions of chemical and enzymatic processes and reactions within our body.
This is so big and yet most of us don’t understand what it is we are looking at! Dr Gary Price Todd MD and a certified ophthalmologist, shared this amazing statement when speaking in a health seminar:
“I don’t believe any of you fully understand or know the magnitude or merit, and the usefulness of plant derived minerals. I am convinced that if each adult in Tulsa, would begin consuming 1200 milligrams of minerals each day, beginning today, by the end of this year, half of the hospitals in this city would be closed!”
Could it really be that magnificent? Would it really make that kind of difference?
I too believe that the number one nutrients we need are plant derived minerals from a reliable source. In fact, I have no doubt about it at all, together with the consumption of the highest quality water.

I found your symptoms list fascinating. Thanks because it gives me an idea of what I could potentially lack. I’m going to have it checked out thank you
Hi Peter, I’m glad you are going to have yourself checked, that’s a wise idea. One of the best ways, I believe, is to take the full spectrum of colloidal minerals to ensure a good healthy balance, but your practitioner will be able to pinpoint any specific lacks you may be experiencing. Marilyn
I found this information amazing as I didn’t understand there was a difference between the hard minerals in the ground and what you call colloidal. It makes sense to me now and I had to let you know. It’s made me interested to see what else I can learn from your site. Thanks heaps. Mary
Hey that’s great Mary! It always encourages me when something I have written about helps a person. I want to thank you for taking the time to leave the message. Hope we meet again. Marilyn
“Health is not just the absence of disease, but more so the presence of physical and mental well-being”! I really liked that!
Oh, someone after my own heart! Thanks for sharing that.
A very interesting and informative article. I’ve wondered what colloidal really meant. Looking for more.
Hi Kirt, I’m so glad you found it interesting. I know I did too when I first learned about it all. Keep reading as there is a lot more 🙂
