Sometimes we just feel blah! We think “What’s wrong?” Have you ever felt that way? Do your ask yourself “How do I increase my energy levels so I can keep going through the day?”
Well, you have to start somewhere!
There’s something I’ve been doing for as long as I can remember which is having a lemon drink upon rising. Never once have I yearned for a plain cup of tea, and definitely not a cup of coffee. Unlike most people in this world we live in, I can’t stand coffee!
No, I find it’s not a chore but something my body seems to desire, so it’s easy for me to do.
Now you can simply squeeze half a lemon
into some room temperature filtered water
and drink it at least 10 minutes before you eat any food…
or you can do what I do and
make it into something really special!
Over the years I’ve developed it into something rather special and now both my husband and myself really look forward to it. I add lemon, ginger and honey to a high antioxidant tea… and it’s so yum. I can show you how I make it here… Lemon Ginger Honey Tea Recipe
But although it’s nice to have, what really are the benefits of doing it first thing in the morning? If you are looking for something that will help you to detoxify, improve your digestion, boost your metabolism AND your energy levels you cannot go wrong with an early morning lemon drink.

Use Organic, especially when using the skin
It’s best if you can use organic lemons because we need to side-step as many sprays and pesticides as we possibly can. If the lemon is only small, use the entire one. Not all lemons are the same… we have small and big, thick skinned and thin skinned. It’s according to what you find still tastes good.xxx

Is this for real? Can lemon juice really help to slow down the aging process?
Hi Vince, It’s only a little part of it, but the more you consume good wholesome food, yes, the aging process would naturally be slowed down. We pay a high price for consuming products that pass as food, when they are not even suitable for human consumption. I guess it’s something we’ll all need to come to realise, because we take it so much for granted that the food we eat is doing us good. Thanks for leaving your comment, it’s much appreciated. Marilyn
I’ve been realizing more and more that we need to pay good attention to what we put in our mouth. Thanks for sharing this information because it encourages me to continue along the path I’ve begun to go along. I look forward to reading more of your stuff.
Hi Katie, Oh it’s good to hear from readers who are in the same mindset as I am. Yes, we do very much need to take care of what we eat. For so long I just ate whatever came along my way… without much thought about it. But, now I pay attention. You do too! Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. Regards, Marilyn
I didn’t know that lemons could slow down the aging process of our bodies. I want to do this from now on as it’s so simple. Like your blog as it has lots of cool tips and ideas.
Oh yes they do indeed! I’m so glad you like what I write – really encourages me. Thank you. Let me know how you get on… yes?
I’m glad you like it Baba… I try to keep it simple. Any food that’s full of goodness would slow down the aging process to a degree. Foods either improve our health, or cause decay… wrong ‘foods’ that we shouldn’t be eating! Thanks for taking the time to share… I really do appreciate it. Marilyn
